Arax Advisory Partners Acquires The Oak Group to Expand Hudson Valley Presence
Arax Advisory Partners, a $42 billion RIA platform backed by RedBird Capital Partners, has acquired The Oak Group, a Poughkeepsie-based wealth management firm managing nearly $1.5 billion in assets. This marks Arax's second acquisition in the Hudson Valley region this year, following the purchase of Omni Financial Advisory Group in March. The deal brings eight advisors and three support staff from The Oak Group, which previously operated under Wells Fargo, into the Arax network. Arax founder and CEO Haig Ariyan highlighted the Hudson Valley as an under-appreciated market with significant generational wealth and demand for independent wealth management services. The acquisition aligns with Arax's strategy to recruit advisors from wirehouses and large banks by offering differentiated client experiences through flexible investment platforms and planning resources. With this addition, Arax has acquired five firms in 2026, extending its footprint across 15 states and reaching $43 billion in assets under management. The firm recently ranked number one on USA Today’s list of top RIAs for 2026, emphasizing its growth in both W-2 partnership and 1099 independent advisor models.
