JD(S) Announces 'Janarondige Janata Dal' Campaigns in Varuna and Chamundeshwari

The Janata Dal (Secular) [JD(S)] has announced upcoming 'Janarondige Janata Dal' programs scheduled for May 13 in Varuna and May 17 in Chamundeshwari Assembly constituencies in Mysuru. This initiative is part of a broader state-wide campaign aimed at strengthening the party and understanding public grievances, having already covered 75 constituencies under the leadership of youth wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy. The announcement was made by senior JD(S) leaders, including S.R. Mahesh and G.D. Harish Gowda. Notably, Varuna is represented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, while Chamundeshwari is held by veteran leader G.T. Deve Gowda, who is currently estranged from the party leadership. During the press conference, S.R. Mahesh criticized the state government for reinstating suspended IPS officer Ramachandra Rao and protecting IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, alleging corruption and misconduct. Mahesh also clarified his political stance, confirming he will contest elections only from K.R. Nagar and ruling out any family members entering the electoral fray, stating he would retire if they did. The event underscores the JD(S)'s efforts to consolidate support in key regions amidst internal and external political challenges.
