Anantapur Court Sentences Four to 10 Years in Guntakal Ganja Case

The First District and Sessions Court in Anantapur has sentenced four individuals to ten years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh each for their involvement in a ganja trafficking case. The verdict, delivered by Judge C. Satyavani on May 11, 2026, found the accused guilty under Section 8(c) read with Section 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The legal proceedings originated from a police raid conducted on February 23, 2024, near Shikari Colony on Alur Road in Guntakal. During this operation, law enforcement officials successfully seized six kilograms of ganja from the defendants. District Superintendent of Police P.
