Adeleke and Oyebamiji Campaigns Trade Blame Over Accord Party Member's Son Killing in Osun

Tensions have escalated in Osun State, Nigeria, following the fatal shooting of Kolade Eluyera, the son of the Accord Party Women Leader in Irewole Local Government Area. The campaign organizations of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji have exchanged sharp accusations regarding the incident. Adeleke’s Imole Campaign Council alleged that the attack was politically motivated and executed by thugs linked to the APC, citing previous unaddressed complaints about harassment against Accord members. They demanded an independent investigation by security agencies. Conversely, the Oyebamiji campaign dismissed these claims as frivolous and fabricated attempts to tarnish the APC’s image and gain political advantage. Kola Olabisi, representing Oyebamiji, urged the public to allow the police to conduct a proper investigation without politicizing the tragedy. The State Police confirmed the recovery of the body with gunshot wounds in Ikire and stated that investigations are ongoing with additional personnel deployed to the area.
